The company receives dozens of Vendor Shipping Instructions (VSIs) per day. The data on each VSI had to be manually copied from the .pdf file into the company's internal database, leading to increased document turnaround times and manual entry error.
Approach
Developed a system that converts the .pdf files into raw .json fields, which are then sorted and cleaned using AI. The cleaned data is then organized in PowerAutomate, and formatted in Excel tables hosted on SharePoint. The data is then imported into the database through DAX logic/code.
Outcome
Reduced documentation turnaround times by approximately 10%, eliminated manual data entry for VSIs, and significantly reduced error rates in a high-compliance environment.
